Where chapters live (for real)

Open Publishing, select a webnovel, then Add chapter — that opens the novel editor at /author/publishing/series/[series-id]/chapter/new/novel. To edit an existing chapter, use /author/publishing/chapter/[chapter-id]/edit. The sandbox below mirrors that UI without calling our APIs. First create the series with Creating a webnovel.

Editor basics

Chapter details — Upload # is assigned automatically and read-only (reorder chapters from Publishing). Chapter title is required. There is no separate chapter description field.
Chapter text — its own section with bold / italic / underline, insert image, and manuscript import (same TipTap model as production).
Limits — up to 15,000 characters of plain text and 5 images per chapter.
Import — .txt, .md, or .docx in the browser; production re-validates on save. In this demo, files never leave your device.
Images — staged on your device until you Save, Publish, or Schedule; then production uploads and processes them. The demo only previews local files in memory.
Layout — stacked sections (details → text → visibility → scheduling → recommended series). On desktop, actions sit in the header; on mobile, the same actions appear in a bar at the bottom.

States & publishing

Draft — work in progress; use Save or Publish… when ready.
Scheduled — set a release time under Scheduling, then Schedule… (Inkstra+).
Published — visible to readers per platform rules and gates. Editing a published chapter shows a single Save (no second Publish button).

Recommended series (optional)

You can recommend another public, approved series when readers finish this chapter. It appears below previous/next navigation. You cannot recommend the same series this chapter already belongs to.

Age-restricted & content warnings

Mark a chapter Age-restricted (18+) when it's for adults. Content warning checkboxes match the live form. Sexual or nude depictions of minors (including characters who look underage) are never allowed. See our Terms.

Reader URLs

Novel chapters are read at /reader/n/[chapter-id]. Series pages use /series/[slug]. Discover novels from /novels.
