Hidden Hinkus

Rare cards that can show up while you browse series or read chapters.

Who is Hinkus?

Hinkus is Inkstra's mascot—the same character you see at the top of the site. You may come across glowing cards scattered on series and chapter pages.

Spawn chances are random and set on the server—you won't see a card every visit. There is a short minimum spacing between roll attempts so refreshing pages can't spam new encounters; after you redeem a card (boost or trial), a longer cooldown applies before another Hidden Hinkus can appear.

Named after the founder's bunny, Mitty Chungpotamoohinkus Flats.

Three kinds of cards

  • Promo boost (amber / violet glow): gift 50 free promo impressions to that series—once per series, per account. Shown to signed-in readers and to Inkstra+ members when they roll this card.
  • Short Inkstra+ trial (cyan / emerald glow): redeem a shorter Inkstra+ trial, often shown as a 1-day or N-hour style offer. Only while you don't already have active Inkstra+; you can run into and redeem again later after a trial ends—how often is tuned by rare spawn odds, not a hard "once ever" cap.
  • Long Inkstra+ trial (fuchsia glow): redeem a longer trial, often a 7-day Inkstra+ offer. Same eligibility rules as the short trial.

Trial cards never appear for readers who already have active Inkstra+. You can still see a trial card while signed out—it's a nudge to create an account; after you sign in, Inkstra finishes activating the trial automatically when possible. If you redeem while signed in, it shows up like other gifted membership on /inkstraplus/manage.

Where they appear

  • Series pages (/series/…)
  • Chapter reader (/reader/c/…)
  • Each load rolls once; the card may land in different vertical slots. Signed-out readers may still see a card, but they must sign in to redeem boosts or trials.

Previews (not live)

Same layout as in the app; buttons here are disabled. Preview odds use a placeholder when needed.

Promo boost — signed in
Promo boost — signed out
Short trial — signed in

Exact odds and durations can change over time.

Fair use

The cooldown only starts after a successful redeem, not after every page load—so you can keep reading and rolling until you claim something. If something looks wrong, contact us.
