Monetization & payouts
How creator earnings, applications, and Stripe Connect payouts work in the Inkstra web app.
Last updated: 2026
Where to manage monetization
- Author dashboard (/author) — overview, including eligibility counters for monetization.
- Earnings (/author/monetization) — apply, view status, balances, and demonetized chapters (when applicable).
- Payout setup (/author/monetization/payout-setup) — Stripe Connect onboarding after you're approved and need to receive payouts.
You must be signed in to access these pages. If you're new, create an account and add a birthdate on your account — creators must meet the age requirement for monetization (the dashboard enforces this when you apply).
Eligibility (platform requirements)
Before you can apply, Inkstra checks that you meet minimum public content and audience thresholds. The exact numbers are configurable by the platform; your Author dashboard always shows your current progress vs. the live requirements.
Current configured thresholds (for reference — always confirm on your dashboard):
- At least 1 public series
- At least 4 public chapters (across your catalog)
- At least 2,000 unique readers
“Public” means content that is available on Inkstra according to your series/chapter visibility — not drafts or hidden items. Unique readers are counted the way the dashboard describes for monetization eligibility.
Application flow (statuses)
From Earnings, you submit a monetization application. Statuses you may see include:
- Not applied — eligibility not met or you haven't submitted yet.
- Submitted / Under review — the team is reviewing your application.
- Pending payout setup — approved for monetization; complete Stripe onboarding to enable payouts.
- Approved — you can accrue eligible earnings subject to the Monetization Terms and any platform or ad policies.
- Rejected or Revoked — check any admin note shown in the dashboard and review the terms for next steps.
Payouts & minimum balance
Payouts run through Stripe Connect. After approval, use Payout setup to finish onboarding and keep your account in good standing.
The FAQ describes payouts as using a monthly cadence and a minimum threshold before funds are sent. The configured minimum on this deployment is approximately $50 (see FAQ and Monetization Terms for full detail).
Ads, demonetization & compliance
The Earnings area may list chapters where monetization or ads are limited. Keep content aligned with our Terms, community expectations, and applicable laws. For copyright issues, see DMCA and the submission flow.
